The meal you’re cooking is not turning out well, you’ve got to drive the kids to school, the dog needs to be walked, you forgot to the laundry and now you’re out of clean shirts, you have a presentation to prepare for work, etc. One doesn’t need to go far to find a reason to stress regarding their life.

Usually, to compensate we might drink coffee to try and motivate us, overwork ourselves to get things done, or eventually have to take a vacation just to get away. That’s not a healthy way to live. Stress can lead to chronic fatigue and the onset of disease or certain health conditions. A traditional or infrared sauna will work wonders at reducing stress. Here are some other relaxation techniques for stress to consider.

Tai chi.

Tai chi is based around ancient Chinese exercise traditions and is easily one of the most graceful fitness styles here is. Body movement and deep breathing is the focus of tai chi, based around low-impact activity. It’s gentle enough to not be challenging and has mental health benefits as well.

Yoga.

Some people choose to combine yoga with infrared sauna therapy. Regardless, yoga in any form will help with relaxation. Build yourself a routine of relaxing yoga poses which are not too challenging. Some easy-to-perform relaxation techniques include three-part-breath, a reclined bound angle pose, knees-to-chest pose, legs-up-on-a-wall pose, and the supported corpse.

Visualization.

Find a quiet place and visualize yourself being in your favourite calm, peaceful location. Think of the smells, what the objects around you feel like, and what you hear. A day at the beach is an example. For every person though, their peaceful place can be unique. Just think of it for three minutes, and close your eyes and meditate on it. You’d be surprised how powerful this is.

Massage.

A massage, like being in a sauna, can help to ease out stress found deep in the muscle. Different types of massages include deep tissue, Swedish massage, sports massage, and trigger point massage. If you have muscle pain that you’re struggling with, choosing either a massage or infrared sauna therapy can be an excellent way to minimize discomfort.

Mindfulness exercises.

Mindfulness is focused around creating awareness of our feelings and sensations. There are mindfulness workbooks and mindfulness exercises, both of which are found to reduce anxiety and depression, produce less negative self-though, and to enhance mood. If you’re overcome with stress, consider dedicating fifteen minutes a day for mindfulness.

Schedule time with no agenda.

Busy people have stress in their lives oftentimes because they push themselves mentally or physically to accomplish more than what is reasonable. If that’s you, try this. Schedule a time of 20 minutes just to sit on the couch and do nothing. Allocate time for you. It doesn’t need to be stuck on the couch but it can be time to sit out on your deck with a cup of tea while you watch surroundings. It’s just time to relax the mind and body, outside of what’s going on professionally and/or personally.

All these relaxation techniques can be combined directly or indirectly with time in an infrared sauna, an activity known to minimize stress, improve heart health, and detoxify the body. Choose your infrared sauna today at Steam Sauna.
